"As satisfying as any and more refined than most, Lang & Reed's 2017 Two-Fourteen offering is a lovely, wonderfully well-balanced offering that steers away from the overly prominent tannins upon which many Cabernet Francs run aground and is a deep, yet relatively mannerly rendition with an intriguing overlay of cedar, dried flowers and subtle oak sweetness to its bright and very continuous, red berry fruit. It is medium-bodied and, though far from a big and blustery wine, is by no means underfilled, and it offers a very different look at the variety that is sure to change the opinions of those who think that all Cabernet Francs are skewed to tannic toughness." Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine, October 2021
Description: Lucky number 11! The eleventh vintage of Two-Fourteen leads with a luminous crimson color with violet highlights on the rim. Aromas of mixed cherry, raspberry, floral and earthy spice explode out of the glass. Deep flavors exude bright fruits and is medium to full-bodied, juicy and perfumed. It shows great persistence of flavor. The ‘214’ clone has always produced Cabernet Franc that is elegant, subtle, and expressive. Though the wine is very enjoyable now, this vintage has the capacity to age for many years in a good cellar.
